what happened to them? is the lack of capital letters in most of the text on this website laziness or progress? is it really that hard to move ones 4th finger down and to the left simultaneously with pressing a letter key at the beginning of a sentence? either way, perhaps its an interesting development of language caused by the nature of keyboards/the speed at which communication happens via the internet, which perhaps lead to this happening in the first place e.g. messenger/chat rooms. also the pleasure of the feeling of typing fast without interruptions like moving your hands about just for a poxy capital letter...ultimately its not needed, the language can still be understood. but perhaps capital letters make text on screens easier to read... is it an expression of anti-capitalism? .... ... Lack of caps? More like an affectation? Employ correct capitalisation together with the occasional paragraph break, if only to maintain the interest of the reader. It's only courteous on a website that purports to be an open source of communication, that the mode is lucid enough to be bothered with. As for brevity: LEARN TO TYPE! There is no 'language development' where communication is lost. please stay, thank you for your comments....please dont take the below disagreement as a sign of an argument - its just dissolving...i`m really grateful that you lead me to thinking all this. and introduced me to the delights of using colours .... learn to type? learn to read differently? a website is not a book, a book is not a website...perhaps its important to do something differently to emphasise that fact. perhaps generally text on the internet should get away from the form of long continuous paragraphs, with the phenomenon of reduced use of capital letters precipitating a move towards short precise bits of information, connected by links as opposed to strung together in a text... cos to put it simply, i`d rather click than scroll....wouldnt you?
