if intellectual property is the oil of the 21st century, given the dynamics/use of force involved in the control of oil at present, what are the prospects for intellectual property?

                  perhaps ultimately the tools of law such as patents and copyrights will be come to be completely over-ridden by the interests of power and profit, given that they are ultimately malleable legal concepts....hence even more susceptible to the use of force than the physical considerations surrounding oil...

                                         therefore, must start now in undercutting the basis of the desire for owning and controlling what amounts to the content of peoples heads...all current attempts at maintaining this artificial boundary to commercial interests will be washed away and perhaps the only way to prevent this is to emphasise the nothingness at the heart of every stage of the process - the creation, the individual, the value

                                         because power is the ability to make reality - 1984, recognised in o-brien, 5 fingers becoming 6 but if one is tightly wedded to one particular version of reality then reality ultimately becomes the supremely depressing and despairing vision of life expressed by orwell. the only way to meet this challenge is anti-realism/nothingness.....in terms of intellectual property not even suggesting the idea of a creative commons - there is just nothing there, no one to own it, nothing to own - because otherwise, if a line is going to be drawn then the ability to draw this line will ultimately be dictated by power/money/commerical interest

in the same way that no a priori limit to 5 fingers being 6, there will be no limit to the ability of oil-seekers recasting the notion of individuals, their thoughts, their very physical nature in pursuing the goal of profit...
